Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

After a great night of sleep we awoke at a normal time for us, shared our usual morning coffee, and were ready to leave the RV Park by 8:00 AM.

The drive to Elk City was easy, on good roads, with the only hitch being a short delay due to an accident.

Marilyn snapped a picture as we passed by the accident scene.

The accident happened between the entrance and the exit to a business beside the highway, and traffic diverted in the entrance, through the parking lot and out the exit, back on to the highway.

We arrived at our destination, Rolling Retreats, right at 12:00 noon, and were greeted by Slade who owns and operates this fine RV business, along with his wife, Alicia.

We were soon all set up, parked in a roomy, level, site with water and 50 amp electric.

We took care of some chores, phone calls, etc, then shared some left-over pizza.

Later, Alicia stopped by to give us a look at the new RV’s they have in stock. Very Nice!!!

After the tour I took a shower and put on some clean clothing.

The weather is supposed to be a bit stormy over the next week or so, which makes our travel plans somewhat “iffy”.

The new fridge should be installed on Thursday and we hope to make it to Wichita on Friday. However, a change in the work completion or bad weather will certainly have a negative effect on those plans.

So, for now we are all set, happy to be in Elk City, and Life is Good!
