This morning we went to Tusayan, a small town just outside the south entrance to the park. First, Barb fed Big Boy and then we went to the IMAX theater to see “Grand Canyon – Hidden Secrets”. We learned about ancient inhabitants of the area and about Major John Wesley Powell’s exploratory journey down the Colorado River. I had goose bumps through most of it! Afterwards, I checked on the helicopter tours of the canyon, but decided against it because of the high winds. Even higher winds are forecast for tomorrow.
We decided to re-visit some of the viewpoints closest to Grand Canyon Village. There were a lot of clouds, which made the lighting very different from yesterday. On the way out of the RV park, a coyote ran in front of us.
After an early dinner at the Maswik Lodge Cafeteria, I worked on the computer for most of the evening. Again, my photos uploaded without a problem. However, I could not upload yesterday’s images back into iPhoto. It could not read them! That’s a mystery to me since they came from iPhoto in the first place. What I ended up doing was to edit each image in HP Image Zone on my other laptop. I re-sized them and saved them in a different folder so I could use some of them on my trip journal. I could have resized all of them at once in iPhoto. Oh, well. I’m much relieved to have salvaged those pictures.
