|I had a terrible night with very little sleep. It was a bad case of heartburn I guess.
We did share some coffee before getting started on our day of travel.
We exchanged hugs with our friends, and drove away right at 9:00 AM, headed to Perrin, Texas.
The wildflowers in this part of Texas are well known and many tourists come here to see the colorful show.
We didn’t see many bluebells but did ooh and awe at the display of reds and yellows along the highway.
We traveled Hwy 16 from Kerrville north all the way to the I-10 east toward Ft Worth.
We turned north again on Hwy 281 and arrived at Mitchell RV Resort right at 2:00 PM.
Five hours of driving put us at this hidden gem of an RV Park and we stay here every chance we get.
As soon as we were set up, we took the truck back to the intersection with Hwy 281 and fuelled up with diesel fuel for tomorrow.
Marilyn ordered a pizza to go and we drove back to the resort with the tantalizing aroma of fresh baked pizza filling the cab of the truck.
I called Slade & Alicia at Rolling Retreats and they were just fine with us arriving tomorrow.
The new residential fridge will be installed Thursday if all goes well. We have a few other issues to be taken care of while we are there, so when we leave, things should be “ship shape”.
Due to forecast rain and storms beginning Tuesday, we are moving on tomorrow in hopes of arriving at Rolling Retreats before the storms begin.
For now, we are set up and relaxing here in Perrin, and hoping for a good night of sleep.
