We enjoyed another beautiful drive today, this time along the coast to Dungarvan in the county of Waterford. We started out by taking the ferry to the little town of Passage East. We drove down the Copper Coast, this is one of the most scenic stretches of rugged coastline in Ireland. We made so many stops along the way to take pictures, it was amazing.
We did have a bit of rain that dampened the picture taking, I still managed to take over 400 of this incredible drive. Our last stop was the beautiful coastal town Dungarvan with a population of about 9,000 people. It has a pretty harbor used by leisure craft of all shapes and sizes and is further enhanced by the majestic Comeragh mountains in its background. We watched several people diving in the beautiful water. We stopped for lunch and had incredible crab claws before taking another route back home.
On our return trip we passed right though the town of Waterford, it was another amazing seaside town. We didn’t stop for the crystal glass making tour they are famous for. We watched one in Italy already, so we passed on this one. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. There is so much to see and do in this area, we wish we had another month instead of one more week. Check back later for more from Ireland.
