Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Getting ready to head to candlelight service at church...

A few of the 'boys' a bit later....

The girls gathering gifts for opening soon...

Jasmine says 'is that all of them?'

All righty then 'I'm on my way!'

I think she's reading it!

Tawnia loved her snow globe...

A new outfit, including a cute hat!

Ahhh...

Cherry pie on Bonnie's finger and in Jasmine's mouth...

A sampling of the girls baking...

After the gift exchange, we seperated into teams, guys against the girls,...

And the guys are listening intently so they can decide who has...

Hope you all enjoyed your evening as much as we did!

Whew, I've finally got a moment to take a deep breathe and sit for a bit! It's been a hectic, busy, wonderful past few days. We've eaten so much I feel like I might bust a seam any minute! Good thing it's a once a year indulgence for much of it, but ohhhh, the goodies have been so yummy....

Bonnie did her usual three days of non-stop baking which included cinnamon rolls, apricot cookies, pies and finally the best peanut brittle ever! Tawnia and Tessa decided to make 14, count 'em, 14 different kinds of new cookie recipes this year! They said it was a barrel of fun, for the first 2 days, and then they were soooo glad to be done! And they will never do it again, LOL!

The entire family went to a beautiful candlelight service Christmas Eve and then gathered together for the evening. We enjoyed a nice buffet before playing a dictionary word game that has been a Christmas tradition for many years. Gifts were exchanged by those who wouldn't be seeing each other the next day with the normal oohs and aahs. The best part is watching the kids with their things. It's amazing to see the change in technology over the years! I feel like an electronic illiterate, LOL....

After the party broke up around midnight, I wrapped a few final things and quietly visited with Bonnie before heading home. I didn't get to bed until 3am and my honey had the audacity to wake me up at 8am with a shake and words to the effect of "honey, you need to wake up, it's 8am and Christmas is here." Response, "so?" "Wake me again at 8:30 please!" But it was too late, I was already awake.

And I will end here for today and pick up in the next post. Thanks for checking in....
