Mission To Kerrville
Apr 26, 2015
|I woke early this morning. I mean really early. Think like 2:15 AM.
I did fall back to sleep but awoke again at 5:00.
I was all clean, dressed in clean clothing, feeling fine.
Until I went outdoors!
The heat and 100% humidity hit me instantly and I felt as if I had just stepped out of a shower with all my clothes on.
Sweat dripped off my face as the mosquitoes chewed on my legs.
We pulled out of the resort at 8:15 and allowed the A/C in the truck to cool me off.
We bypassed San Antonio, relying on information from our friend Bob, about an alternate route, going through Pleasanton, Jourdanton, Devine, Hondo, and Bandera, before reaching Kerrville.
That route took us longer but was stress free with little traffic, still allowing us to arrive at Buckhorn Lake RV Resort at 2:30 in the afternoon.
We were all set up and sitting outdoors in the wonderful weather when Eddie & Jan arrived.
We were delighted when they parked right beside us.
We all sat together for a few minutes and then headed into town for dinner at a fine Mexican restaurant called “Mamacitas”.
After a fine meal we drove back to the resort where Eddie & Jan completed their setting up process.
We look forward to tomorrow and more fun with our friends.
As for tonight, we hope for a good night of sleep.
Yep, we are sure that Life is Good!
P.S. I have pictures but must wait for a better internet connection.
