We left the Mont -Saint -Michel area this morning and drove closer to Loire region. Along the way we stopped at the village of Jublains which was a major Roman site and fortress nearly 2000 years ago. Much of the Roman influence has been preserved including the fortress, the theatre and the temple. It was well worth the stop. The drive today was also very interesting as we stayed on the minor roads and passed through some amazing villages with their very narrow roads and buildings that stand right on the road edge - a bit daunting at times in our rather big Ford Galaxy. Most of the crops in this area appear to corn or wheat - acres and acres of them. Tomorrow is only a short drive to our next stop where we will spend a couple of days at the start of the Loire Region.
