Happy Birthday to me!

Can you believe it's already into September??? Nope, me neither. It's been a jam packed last couple of weeks and lots of fun too. I think I've had 3-4 birthday celebrations with different groups of wonderful friends. Saturday morning we headed into Hot Springs to the FlatIron B & B where we enjoyed listening to several friends play outside in the beautiful courtyard. The weather was lovely, close to 80 degrees so we pulled out our chairs, purchased a bowl of terrific white chicken chili & sang along to our favorite tunes. I even got a rousing version of 'Happy Birthday' from our buddies the Ramblin Rangers & friends.

Friends David & Judi Kruse were along for the ride & visiting the area was a first for them. In fact, this is their first visit to SD so they have much to see! We're planning on doing a bit of tour guiding for them in the coming days so there will be plenty of pics to share for sure. Mid afternoon we decided we best get home & let the dogs out, rest a bit & have a bite to eat.

It sprinkled a bit in the late afternoon, once again giving the hills & our lawn a wonderful drink, just enough to keep it green. Love it! As we were leaving around 7 pm a small end of a rainbow could be seen & the skies die some dramatic changing as we headed downtown. Friends Allen & Jill were performing at the Naked Winery & we'd promised to stop in. There were numerous friends inside when we arrived & once again, I got a rousing rendition of 'Happy Birthday'. Fun way to end my day.

Tomorrow morning we'll be going out to breakfast, then to church & later in the day the Studebaker Car Show. Looking forward to that. Then on Monday we're going to celebrate Labor Day & two other birthdays at our friend Jan Speirs cabin, located near Mystic, along the Mickelson Trail. We've been wanting to see it for the past several years so we are really looking forward to it! I know you'll want to see the pictures, it's a beautiful area so please come back!

Thanks to everyone for your cards, calls, emails & FB shouts. You all made it a very special day and I really appreciate it!
