Our first trip this year was 333 miles from home to just north of Troy, AL. The journey was uneventful with most of it along I-10 until we headed north on US-231. The traffic was heavy the whole trip (the end of July 4th week-end) but there were no delays until just south of Dothan, AL. We had several slowdowns in a 10 mile stretch where the road and red lights just couldn't handle the load.
We are staying at the Deer Run RV Park and it is a very nice stopover while on the road. We have a spacious (for an RV Park on the highway) site with 50 amp full hookups. There are two sewer connections so no adjusting to make the site fit the coach. It has a level concrete pad and is plenty long to leave Libby attached with lots of room left over. I can see why Florida Tiffin owners tend to heavily use this park on the way to Red Bay, AL. As I am posting this, another Phaeton just pulled in.
We didn't do anything while here but decompress after the last few weeks of surgery recovery and getting all packed up to leave. Tomorrow we head for Red Bay for an appointment with Brannon at Custom RV to install our new Direct TV dish on the roof.
