We have been planning for months, and Africa is coming up so fast. We had to get extra blank pages added to our passports (who knew we'd ever run out!), and Zambian visas from the embassy in Washington, so now we feel ready.
We will visit Cape Town for the first week, then fly to Maun, Botswana where we will stay for a week in (very nice sounding, run by Abercrombie and Kent) safari camps in the Okavango Delta, then on to Zambia at Victoria Falls and continuing on more safari there.
Tom is ready for any photos that come along with 26 pounds of camera and computer equipment! The light, single engine aircraft used to get to these safari camps have smaller baggage limits, so this is a challenge! All soft sided and no wheels!
We've been to the bank to get some South African money (Rand). We can use US money in Zambia, but it has to be new, crisp and clean! We don't expect many ATM's nor Internet, so you may not see any postings in this journal until after we return home on May 12.
