|We left nice and early from Arequipa to get across the border back to Chile. We saw our last images of Peru (well for this trip anyway) and arrived at Tacna to join a group of Swedes in a taxi to take us to Arica on Chilean soil. On the way across to Peru a month ago we had got our bags checked once, got our passports stamped and then boarded a train for a simple journey. No such luck this time. We had to get our stuff checked numerous times, wait in queues for passport stamps and papers, run around looking for our taxi and we were just glad when the ordeal was over.
When we got to Arica we returned to Sunny Days hostel as we had a good experience there previously and I chatted to the owner Ross about our time in Peru, Inca sites and in particular my trek to Choquequirau. We also had to return a key we had accidentally kept from our last visit.
Nothing more to do tonight than eat and drink, Chilean style.
