DAVE & REBECCA'S BIG ADVENTURE travel blog

Rebecca adds Rhode Island to our travel map!

Rebecca, drove the first part of this short day of only 130 miles from Danbury to West Kingston, RI and the Wamaloam Campground! However, when Dave made the reservation he was emphatically told not to arrive before 3 p.m. as policy was to charge $5 per hour for every hour prior to 3 o’clock… Since it was going to be such a quick drive we found something else to do! One of the last exits in Connecticut is for the little town of Mystic. We found Mystic Village and a great big parking lot for the rig. Mystic Village is a great marketing/sales tool of a small conglomeration of old appearing buildings in a little village setting. Very cute and perfect to waste some 3 hours before we had to get on down the road. Lunch was good at the “Ten Clams”, dessert was terrific at the “Bleu Squid” and the jewelry is fantastic at the “2400 degrees”.

The park was listed in Trailer Life/Good Sam book and they happened to have space for us. It's nice little park and had many families enjoying themselves. We like to hear the happy laughter of children and families. It's one the most expensive parks we've stayed in, at $55 for full hook up, 50 amp, 1 pet ($3).
