Anniversary, Joe's Crab Shack...

Just a short note to let you all know that we arrived safely in Las Vegas on Monday around 5:45pm. We were a bit concerned about hitting town at that time of the day, as traffic can really get bogged down. But it turned out to be no problem whatsoever. Even with all of the construction on I-15, things were moving right along. Larry drove the first 2 hours, then I drove 2 hours and then we switched again right before hitting the outskirts of town. It felt really weird getting behind the wheel again. But I have to admit that I love it. Such a sense of freedom to have your home right behind you. We averaged 12.4 MPG and were quite pleased with that #. It was dark before arriving at Bonnie and Larry's, so we decided to just pull in out front and set up this morning.

If you have been following our blog for very long, you are already aware that we park here each winter for a couple of months. Sometimes a bit longer than planned when dentists and doctors get in the mix! But this year my honey seems to be in great shape so we won't have to pester his family for quite as long as the last 2 years...Although we enjoy our evening meals together and our Hand & Foot sessions. We were too tired for one last night, but Bonnie and I will take the guys on soon!

Today was our 24th Wedding Anniversary. We've been craving crab, so our restaurant of choice this evening was Joe's Crab Shack. It was terrific! The crowd was really light, we couldn't believe it. On most of our other visits it was pretty much standing room only. I suppose with $$'S being so tight for many families, and Christmas just a few weeks away, we shouldn't have been surprised. Anyway, we got the full attention of our waitress and management as well. They came to our table at the end of our meal with a FREE appetizer offer for our next visit. And, Larry did a reasonable job with YMCA! All of the waiters descended on our table with whipped cream for each of us and instructions to give it to each other 'just like you did the cake at your wedding'. I quickly informed Larry that he'd better not! We were going to a movie after dinner and I didn't plan to wear white! I intentionally wore black, LOL!

We arrived at the movie theater to find one other couple seated in Theater #14. The movie? 'Couples Retreat', of course! On a scale of 1-10, we would give it an 8. Based on the acting of most of them. Vince Vaughn in particular. This is not a movie for children! Removing clothing seemed to happen quite a bit. It was billed as a comedy, and there were funny parts. But, it was very predictable. Enjoyable, but predictable. I'd recommend waiting for rental. Bottom line, we had an enjoyable evening out and are counting our many blessings. I'm living and traveling with my best friend, how much better can that be? As a couple, I'd give us a big 10! Goodnight....
