Trekking with Daisy 2009-10 travel blog

My drive today was short so I didn’t have to get a very early start. I arrived at the campground around noon. It was really hot in Seguin. Phew!!! I guess I've been gone so long in the cooler regions that I've forgotten just how hot it can get. I was wringing wet by the time I had finished hooking up. The forecast for tomorrow is better, though.

There were more rigs than Wagon Master Stuart had expected, so some of us had to share campsites. It really makes it difficult for him when people just show up without reservations. Since Daisy is only 26 feet long, we will be sharing space with Patricia’s 23-foot Lazy Daze. She will arrive tomorrow. Stuart said he didn’t know whether he ought to put two Lazy Dazes in the same site or not. :>) Luckily, I have a 50-to-30-amp adapter and a water faucet ‘Y’ so she and I can share the same hookups. We can’t both use the sewer hookup at the same time, though, unless we can find a ‘Y’ type sewer attachment. However, this isn’t critical because we are here for such a short time.

There were several new people at the campout. Some of them are new members who have joined since I’ve been away. Two of them are first-time visitors and another one is back for his second visit. I hope all of them will join the club.

We had a nice variety of foods at our potluck dinner tonight. Amazingly, there was only one dessert but it was enough. Usually there are several desserts.

We are having a silent auction to raise funds for our treasury. There are quite a few nice items, some of them brand new. The auction will end Saturday evening.
