Dunnett and Daggs Amazing Adventures 2018 travel blog

Maggie’s Kitchen in city centre Greymouth provided this mornings coffee. It came with some friendly banter from a Kiwi man who’s lived in Benalla in his past.

From here we ventured to Shanty Town where DOG our friendly search and rescue Border Collie team mascot was welcomed most warmly. In fact it is believed he will appear on their Facebook page as the steam train driver was quite enamoured with him and took several photos. It was a smaller version of Sovereign Hill in many ways.

With gorgeous blue skies we took on Arthur’s Pass again looking forward to some beautiful scenic shots that we were unable to take last time in the co,d wet grey drizzle we’d driven in 2 weeks ago. We were thrilled as we also got snow capped mountains, keas and snow capped mountains. One side trip found Karen frolicking in the snow , another a couple of keas putting on a show and a third one found a Kea sitting on our car. The kea is known for their ability to destroy tyres and wipers in a nano second so the kea was quickly shooed away.

The drive through Arthur’s Pass into ChCh is a beautiful one and I could do it again and again.

Upon arrival into ChCh we headed straight to Fino ( our base last week) so we could park and head back into town for some last minute shopping and a wander down our favourite street New Regent Street.

Returned the car and are about to head off to dinner at the pub attached to our hotel before we finish packing as the Shuttle picks us up at 4.10 am.

A fantastic holiday ...... comes to an end 𯘩
