Vigo estuary - nudist beach!

Vigo estuary - Isla de San Martin National Park

Vigo estuary - Isla de San Martin National Park

7 Oct: We were going to stay at Camarinas because we thought the wind would be too strong for us today/tomorrow, but as there is no wind forecast for Sunday and we didn’t want to be stuck here, we decided to go for it. The wind was behind us so it didn’t seem so strong and we really sped along at 7-9 knots with wind speeds of 18-20 knots, gusting to 27 knots at one point. We had reefed the mainsail but it was still hard work helming because of the swell.

We were planning to go to a marina on the south side of the Vigo estuary, but because of the wind direction, Francis decided an anchorage on the north side would be better. It wasn’t till we got there that we realised that it was off a nudist beach! (67 nautical miles in 9 hours 45 minutes). Next stop Portugal!
