At Home In Colorado
Jun 7, 2014
|The wind was blowing hard in Oakley this morning.
No problem for us as we were nearly ready to go.
We went to the nearby restaurant for a hearty breakfast of ham, eggs, hash browns, and toast.
The sky remained a solid gray overcast but the wind had died down a bit by the time we pulled out of the campground at 8:30 AM.
We drove along I-70 with a quartering headwind cutting into my already poor fuel mileage, but Marilyn zoomed happily along getting over 44 mpg.
We made a quick stop to fuel up the truck at Limon, Colorado, but Marilyn just smiled and said that she didn’t need any fuel as she still had ¾ of a tank.
Just 4 hours and 40 minutes after leaving Oakley, we pulled in to Mountaindale Resort. We were greeted immediately by Chris, an old friend who work camps here.
He said with a grin that “Now it feels like summer, with us here”.
We met the new lady in the office. Her name is Abby and she seems very nice.
We were soon set up in our usual Site, #82, and Marilyn was busy making things look like home again.
We are in the Mountains here and have no Cell Phone Service, no TV until Keith sets up the Direct TV installation for us.
The Wi-Fi seems quite slow, even slower than the other times we have been here. We’ll have to see what is going on with that.
In any case, it feels good to be “nesting” for awhile.
The Ice Cream Social is tonight at 7:00.
Aah, Yes! Life is Good!
