Heather and Gary in Europe - Spring 2014 travel blog

Friday April 25

We had a leisurely breakfast, finished packing, paid the bill and drove towards Lille. The roads were slightly congested as it was just after rush hour. Once back in Lille, we drove into the town centre to a petrol station that the car rental company recommended for the last fill up; we had to show the rental company the receipt to demonstrate that we had refuelled the car.

We then drove to the Europcar rental in the basement of the Gare de Europe. Once everything was sorted with the car rental (very quickly), we waited in the train station for over an hour for our direct TGV train to Amsterdam. As we are both seniors it did not cost very much more than the regular fare to travel first class. We were on our way by noon.
