This morning I stopped at Discount Tire Store to have them check my tires and install the valve stem extensions that I had bought at Pep Boys. To my chagrin, the extensions would not work! The store manager recommended that I go to Crestview RV in Buda to get their recommended extensions.
I arrived at Lexington in time to have lunch at El Matador Mexican Grill with Annette, Ronnie and Larry. The food and service were good. After lunch Ronnie drove us to his property just outside Lexington. He has sold all but a few acres of his original holdings to several others. He had built a very nice house, a large storage barn for his big motorhome and a fishing pond. He now lives in a new house outside Bryan.
It was chilly and cloudy all day with intermittent rain showers. It was too cool to sit outside as we usually do but we didn’t dare complain. We are still needing much more rain in order to recover from the severe drought of the last couple of years.
Since it was still chilly and rainy today, we stayed in the club room most of the time and played table games or just visited. After lunch Stuart showed another of his DVDs: “Ins and Outs of Your RV’s Refrigerator” which was interesting and very helpful. Some of the troubleshooting steps would have to be done by specialists, though.
This evening we had special guests for dinner and music afterwards by the Milano Band. Ronnie Mann is a member of the band and had arranged for them to play for us without charge. All we had to do was feed them! The band members are Sammy Patton (guitarist and singer), Ross Barber (fiddler), Robert Stow (mandolin and guitar), Sharon Stow (autoharp), Roy Pilgrim (lead guitarist and singer) and Ricky Billings (bass guitarist). Ronnie plays rhythm guitar and sings.
Other guests were Wesley and Sheri Sweet, who recently bought Ronnie’s house and part of the acreage.
The rain showers today were a little heavier than yesterday’s. This evening most of the Milano Band members were back to rehearse for an upcoming gig. They didn’t eat with us this time, though. A few of our members danced a little. Some people from another RV club came in to listen to the music.
