I look pretty small on this ship

Shorts!

Several ships like this passed right by us at the marina

The distance from Chesepeake City at the north end to Norfolk at the south end of the Chesapeake Bay is 207 miles. Norfolk is also the north end of the Atlantic ICW heading south and referred to as Mile 0 of the ICW. The Norfolk Navy Base is home to numerous aircraft carriers, destroyers, submarines, cruisers and Navy Tender, all of them armed with machine guns pointing down at us as we cruised innocently by - very strange!

We stayed for two nights at the Waterside Marina right downtown, adjacent to the Waterside Festival Marketplace. There was so much to see and do and the weather was gorgeous, I finally had my shorts on. The view from DL was amazing and we watched all the huge ship pass by during our two day stay.

We visited the Nauticas Museum, toured the USS Wisconsin and watched the movie Storm Chasers on the huge screen. We explored downtown and browsed around the large McArthur Centre mall.
