|I first woke at 3:30 this morning. I tried and tried but was unable to go back to sleep. I finally crept out of bed at 4:30 and waited for daylight so I could get those few remaining chores done so we could get on the road.
We had time for our usual morning coffee and were on the road right at 8:00 which was our planned time all along.
I have to give Marilyn lots of kudos because she drove for five solid hours without a stop, even in the heavy traffic of the north Texas town of Stephenville.
We arrived at Mitchell’s RV Park in Perrin, Texas right at 1:00 PM and were happy to be off the road.
The weather forecast for our route of travel calls for thunderstorms, some severe, for the next couple of days.
With that in mind, we have decided to stay put here in Perrin, for a couple of days.
It didn’t take us long to get set up and then we sat together outdoors, enjoying the sunshine, 80 degree temperature, and light breeze, with a glass of red wine, cheese and crackers.
Marilyn is fixing spaghetti for dinner and we’ll relax with the peace and quiet of the countryside here in north Texas.
We are anxious to get home to Hannibal, but won’t travel when conditions are hazardous.
As for now, we are comfortable where we are and can say with confidence that Life is Good!
