From Reno, the little town of Smith is due south by about 110 miles down highway 395 near the California border. This Walker River Resort is a private resort and as the name implies is on the famous trout fishery of Walker River. This is our first time here and we are impressed. Though in a high desert (4720 ft of elevation) setting the shade trees and the amenities make up for what other desert resorts would lack. This resort caters to the family with ATV's, MotoX bikes, clay shooter enthusiast, fishers and desert golfers.

Our stay here is for 12 days, to allow Dave to heal thoroughly from his first of two basal cell surgeries. His first one, went well and Rebecca will take out those stitches on July 4th. Pictures of his wound are on the previous entry for Grand Sierra Resort.

Keith, Angelique and children came to stay with us for the 4th of July weekend. They stayed in a tent on our site. Much fun was had by all. Keith is Dave's oldest son, we haven't had much time together till now. We feel that we now have begun to make up the lost time.

Dave went fly fishing on the Walker River in Wilson Canyon one day and took some pictures, since he didn't catch any fish.
