|Kathy, an avid quilter, had taken her machine into Ruidoso for some repair earlier in the week. And, since we STILL had not gotten Don’s last prescription filled, we all drove into Ruidoso early in the morning. This was new scenery for us since we had come in from the other direction the last 3 times we drove in. Don was happy that Johnny drove; he was able to enjoy the scenery.
Everyone at the quilt shop greeted Kathy like a long lost relative and I even got a hug. She got her machine, and made arrangements to buy a fully adjustable long arm quilting table as well. (You would have loved this store Nancy Wert!) Don got his prescription. We made a stop at the herb store and in no time at all were on our way home.
After a stop by the house to drop off the machine and pick up another one that needed repair, we were off to Alamogordo for a niece’s baby shower. After dropping off the sewing machine, we enjoyed the shower while all the men went on over to a tailgate party at the school parking lot. I believe it was a fun afternoon for everyone.
For dinner, we went with another couple to Tiffany’s, supposedly a Greek restaurant, for dinner. We girls shared a huge Greek salad and a hummus plate. Jim at least had something Greek, but Johnny had barbecue and Don ate an ice cream sundae. A good dinner!
