Autumn Colors

On this beautiful afternoon I went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center to get my "fix" and to see the new sculpture exhibition. There are twenty sculptures scattered throughout the gardens. The “Water Sparks” exhibition features five limestone and glass works by Damian Priour. The remaining fifteen sculptures, inspired by nature and the human form, are by various Texas regional artists. The sculptures are part of a larger exhibit curated by Clint Willour of Galveston Art Center and hosted by the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum.

There are also collages and mixed media paintings of wildflowers in the McDermott Learning Center by Mary Frasher, "My Back Yard: Life in Central Austin".

After my walk, I had a chocolate cookie and a glass of hibiscus tea in the Wildflower Cafe. Mmmm! (www.wildflower.org)
