|Well we’re back home in Silver Springs, Fl… What a busy time it has been..
Sunday afternoon was spent stocking up on grocery’s and returning the rental car… Lots of things has been happening around the park and it took us awhile to get filled in and check out the new completed work… Things are really starting to shape up and look good.
Monday we had our weekly meeting with coffee and donuts and updates from the park manager and the new activities director… Lots of action going on with the first one starting Monday evening… Bingo will be held each Monday and Bill and I both went to the first night.. We didn’t win anything but it was a fun time anyway.. It is always nice to socialize with the neighbors..
We got back into our walking routine on Tuesday and I must say, it felt good… All that walking that we did on our vacation is still not quite the same as a brisk two mile fast pace walk.
Tuesday evening we met up with our friends from our full timing class of ‘05... Terry and Dale met us at Sonny’s, our favorite bar- b-q restaurant and not too far from our place…. It was raining cats and dogs but that didn’t stop us from having a good time with them and catching up on what has been happening since we last saw them in Elkhart last September… After dinner we all came back to our place… It was too dark for them to see all of the park but they were able to get the idea anyway.. They recently bought a lot in Texas but are in Florida for a good part of the winter this year helping their son find a house… They brought a really cute flag for me to put up in the yard that is all about wine… Now do they read this blog or what?? It is so cute and I will put a picture up and soon as possible… Thanks Terry and Dale… We had a great time with you.
As nice as it is to meet up with friends all over the country when you are full timing, there is also a downside and we have just run into it for the first time… It is something that we all must be prepared for and that is being so far from good friends and family in times of illness and death…Irene and Joe have been the greatest of friends since 1955 and whenever we get back to Duluth they are one of the first on our list to see.. Each time we are together, it’s like we have never been apart… This week Joe passed away and we will not be able to go back and say good-by to him or give Irene the hugs that she needs… It is hard but the memories will always be with us and we will grieve right along with Irene and her family. The world has lost a special man and he will be missed by many……
