On the 12 hour plane ride home

Get up and have breakfast and make arrangements at the desk for transport to the airport to catch our 2:55 PM flight. We had to be there at 11:30 to get to the airport on time.

We looked around from the rooftop and saw all the ships docked in the 2:55 PM flight. We had to be there at 11:30 to get to the airport on time.

We looked around from the rooftop and saw all the ships docked in the Sea of Marmara waiting to go through the Bosphorus. $250,00 each for the passage. We also noted that several buildings around us were in quite a state of disrepair – some falling apart!

We walked around the hippodrome and into a couple shops where we got some last-minute gifts. I wished everyone “Eid Mubarak” or happy festival and got some nice responses. Then through the bazaar and back to the hotel. Said thank you and goodbye to the clerk and the hotel cat. Met our ride and an easy trip to the airport (about 45 minutes as it was a holiday).

Security was no problem so walked around the shops – lots of them but mostly high end stuff. We bought a little bit then found our gate and got our seats and off to the USA.

Got in about 7:30 and cleared customs and passport (no mobile passport!), got our stuff. Called the hotel but still waited 45 minutes for the shuttle. But back to the car, packed up, and off home.

Both of us were quite tired. I tried driving but the road blurred so I stopped. Kitty drove and I napped but she said she fell asleep several times while driving. We did get home safely and all was well!
