The 271 mile trip from Johnston City to Bourbonnaise, IL was almost all interstate so was a relatively easy drive, even with the ever present construction which didn't delay us much. Not a whole lot to take pictures of but we did include a few. Central Illinois is highly agricultural with lots of corn and soy beans (#2 in the nation for both). While going through Effingham, we did see the Cross at the Crossroads
which is near the intersection of I-57 and I-70.
We are staying at the Kankakee River State Park about 10 miles west of Bourbonnaise. It is a large campsite with 50 amp electric only. Water is available at the dump but we came in with a half tank so didn't need any water but will dump on the way out tomorrow. It was about 70° when we arrived with a nice cool breeze to boot. We haven't ran the ACs since arriving and that has been really cool - literally!!
Tomorrow we head for a Lake Michigan front site near Two Rivers, WI. That will be our last stopover before reaching Ishpeming in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
