Province House in Charlottetown

The maps aren't going to show all the wandering all over the island we are doing. We spent more of today driving across the island (small distances, but puddling along sometimes) towards Charlottetown. We did stop at a potato museum for some history and breeding lessons in potato-land! In Charlottetown we once again admired the old homes and buildings. We went to St. Dunstan's Basilica, then next door to Province House. This is not only their legislative building for the province, but it is also where the Fathers of Confederation first met to discuss creating the country of Canada. The history of the building is very well presented and preserved. We then walked to the ticket box office of the Charlottetown Festival Centre, and bought tickets for the evening's performance of the Anne of Green Gables musical - it ends at the end of this week for the year. We then walked down to the waterfront and had dinner at a water-side pub (also closing at the end of the week until next year), and back to the motorhome for a rest. After the evening's performance, which was very good, we drove the motorhome back out to the Walmart at the edge of the town (Charlottetown really isn't any bigger than Courtenay!)
