Lunenburg was founded in 1753 and is still in the fishing and shipbuilding business. Now it is not only the home of the Bluenose ll, Marine Museum, Many good restaurants, Shops and homes but they are making whale boats and sets for a new movie Moby Dick. I learned about fishing and boat building at the museum where you can go aboard the Theresa E. Connor, launched in 1938 and being repaired there now. On board the Bluenose we met 16 great young people that crew the ship which is Nova Scotia’s repersenitive to the Tall Ships from around the world. They all really enjoy their jobs and live on board for 6 months. A meal I tried is called a Donair which is a combination of Spiced ground beef served on a pizza crust topped pepperoni, cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato and pizza sauce. I really have enjoyed trying the deferent local foods.
