My plane touched down at 1 am on Christmas Eve morning on the island of Singapore. After hitting duty free and picking up our bags we hailed a cab for the Inn Crowd in Little India. At 2 am I was checked in. In total darkness I put the fitted sheet on my bunk in a 12 person dorm room.

The next morning I made it downstairs for breakfast. They set you up with two eggs and toast that you fix yourself. I decided on over medium and buttered my toast. After checking email, etc it was time for food again. Passing on the recommended Indian at Banana Leaf I got hot and spicy ramen at the Food Center, which left me in a full body sweat.

That afternoon a group from the Inn Crowd arranged a trip out to the man made island of Santosa. There were 20 of us that hopped on the subway to the Harbor Front. This emptied into a super mall that stretches the entire length of Singapore underground.

After loading up on supplies we caught the monorail over to the island.

There we played games and toured around. Good side trip that I made here to be told later.

As the sun went down a group of us ventured off for food in Little Indian before having a Christmas celebration on the hostel.

Christmas morning became Christmas afternoon as I slept in. Scarmbled eggs and toast this morning. Brew and I eventually made it out towards the riverfront in our custom red and white pants. We had a good burger and microbrew at Brewwerkz. Then headed down to Orchard Road, the huge shopping street filled with lights, xmas concerts, and endless shopping.

By that time it had become Christmas morning back homeand I made calls to Mom and Dad. It was good to talk to them although a bit depressing not having been home for presents and good food. That night I laid low and watched a movie with some friends from the Inn Crowd.

Friday morning (12/26) I fixed breakfast for Brian and I before check out. Our bus for Kuala Lumpur left at 12:45 and after the 15 minute walk to the station the time worked out perfectly.
