The harbor and town

A high bridge

Very much like Holland

A clever pontoon bridge

Moving the bridge to allow ships to enter or leave

Leaving this port

Surf & turf dinner

Tasty dessert

Like a Dutch village, the town of Willemstad has a clever harbor with a pontoon bridge forming a link from one part of town to the opposite shore. Another approach is from the rougher shore, but our ships’s tall masts would not fit under this giant span so the pontoon bridge was moved to admit us and at sailing time, moved out of the way to let us get back into the ocean and travel to our last port in Aruba.

Surf and Turf was the final dinner on board as we packed our belongings and slept well with dreams of our wonderful cruise in the southern Caribbean.
