Our journey from West Memphis, AR to Red Bay, AL was a short journey of 160 miles during which we encountered a light rain as we were traversing the east side of Mississippi. That makes eight separate trips we have made since leaving Prescott Valley, AZ and each has involved rain. Needless to say we are a little tired of it, not to mention the mess it makes of the Mothership and Libby!
We are staying in the Red Bay RV Park again. As you can see from the pictures it is just a gravel lot with 50 amp, full hookup, back-ins. It is a little larger than most of the other parks in town and has a bit more room for maneuvering which we like. We were lucky to get a spot in the park as they are all packed this time of year since the snowbirds are making their trip south and stop here on the way. There are seven RV parks in close proximity holding a total of 102 sites and the service center itself holds another 101, all of them full each night so when you drive in you are hoping to find a site vacated by someone that morning! Fortunately, there were three sites available in this park as we arrived at 10:30 but no sites available two hours later!
We enjoyed a quiet weekend watching football before the rat race began on Monday. Monday we made the trip out to the cabinet makers and he made three pullout slides for the cabinets over our couch. Tuesday started out with taking the coach to get her annual maintenance done and ended with taking her in for new windshield as we had received a rock strike just before we got to Red Bay and then it cracked about 18 inches shortly thereafter. Wednesday was a trip to get the satellite dish repaired and a wind strip on the door replaced. Today, we were supposed to finish up our Red Bay visit with a nice wash and wax so the Mothership would be ready for her trip home but the rains came and that cancelled that!
Tomorrow we head for Ozark, AL for a two-night stay.
