road trip Colorado Sept 2014 travel blog

Out for some breakfast at Village Inn loaded up and head out of Grand Junction on I-70 to Glenwood Springs to Aspen. Went by the airport must have been at least 30 private jets setting on the side of airport, was talking to a local and he said there were at least that many in private hangers, wow. I walk about the town was having a street market checked out a few booths, got a piece of pizza $4.50 plus tax ( it was good) lol. Then back on the road to Independence Pass 12,095 ft the road gets very narrow in places only room for one car at a time. When I got to the top the temp was 60 degrees lots of cars and all the people was pulling out sweater or jackets, cloudy with a couple sprinkles. Then on down the other side to San Luis valley, a stop at the hot springs for a short soak (about 4 hours) lol and on into Alamosa for the night.
