Anne & Tom's Florida Trip in 2014 travel blog

Entering North Carolina.

We needed gas and found this antique place to fill up.

A reral old-fashioned gas station with very friendly help.

The hose was very long and on a spring loaded connector. Probably...

Our trip the next day took us to South Carolina and then...

At Fort McAllister for some time to relax after over 1100 miles...

After a good night's sleep in the Holiday Inn, we headed out before breakfast and traveled to the first rest stop on I95 where we made breakfast in the RV (one of the nice things about traveling with your "home"). Then we pushed on to Wade, NC where we stayed in an RV park overnight and after breakfast on Jan. 3, headed out to our first real stop on the trip down. We wanted to be in our campsite at Fort McAllister by check-in time to get one of the "premium" sites along the salt marsh. YES, we scored! Now we were really camping and had frozen meatball soup (warmed in the microwave) and homemade biscuits for dinner.
