Fallon World Trip 2011 travel blog

On Wednesday 4th May we caught train into New York City, Kenan met us, and now practically a local was able to direct us straight to our city apartment. Our apartment was on ‘little Korea street’ so many fantastic Asian style restaurants and on 8th floor unfortunately with no views but close to all hot tourist spots. Kenan rented an apartment in Brooklyn (15 minute subway trip away) so we un packed and took subway to his apartment. Brooklyn a quiet, older style village and his apartment had spectacular views over to NY City. The next 10 days we enjoyed all New York has to offer and it’s ALOT!! We purchased 7 day sightseeing passes that included heaps of options. We enjoyed evening cruise of Hudson River on 80 foot sail boat, past the ‘Statue of Liberty’ at dusk, the Empire State Building 86th floor lookout and sky ride simulator, riding bikes through Central Park, Coney Island (Kenan and Isaac rode ‘cyclone’ rollercoaster, Times Square, Madame Tussauds, Walked Brooklyn bridge, attended Baptist Church service on Mother’s Day, Intrepid (Aircraft carrier) Air Museum, Rockefeller Centre NBC tour and observation lookout, cruise to Liberty Island to see Statue of Liberty up close, went to 2 Broadway shows (Rain and Mama Mia), enjoyed 3hr cruise all way around Manhattan Island and fabulous variety of great food. New York has heaps of yellow taxis, police on every corner, security at every tourist spot, automatic flushing loos, and flags EVERYWHERE, many many tourists and is a city full of interesting smells, loud car horns and fabulous amazing sights!!!

On Thursday 12th May we said goodbyes to Kenan and Isaac at JFK airport and on Saturday 14th May Paul and Heather said goodbye to NY.
