As I was getting ready to face the day, my furnace started blowing cold air. Ach! I checked the water heater and saw that the red light was on. I knew then that I was out of propane in the big external tank. I called H K Propane and left a message asking them to deliver propane on Monday. My on-board tank is about three-fourths full, though, so I’m not in danger of freezing. Besides, I have two electric heaters which I use extensively to conserve propane.
Today my church had only one service at 11:00. It was shorter than usual.
Christmas dinner was at Inge and Milton Rider’s house. Inge was up to her usual grand feast with two meats, roasted goose and pork loin. This was my first taste of goose. For starters, we had a delicious pasta soup made from goose broth. Side dishes included dumplings, two types of gravy, two types of cabbage, Brussels sprouts and a green salad. Later in the afternoon we had coffee and chocolate cake.
It has been a good day.
