Carpe Diem in Laughlin, NV

The folks at Freightliner of Arizona at Tulleson did a fine job repairing the leaking front wheel bearing. They also noted that the left bearing was "seeping", so they replaced that one also. They also replaced the right front brake shoes. All under warranty (yeah!!!) AND, the coach was ready when promised...

We "rolled wheels" at 11:30 A.M. and drove the 218 miles non-stop (except for driver change north of Wikiup). We tried a new route, I-10 to AZ 303 which connected with AZ 60 north of Surprise. From there familiar routing, US 93 to I-40 east of Kingman, and then AZ 63 from Kingman (down the 6% Union Hill---love that "Jake Brake") to Bullhead City/Laughlin. We particularly enjoyed the drive through the Joshua Trees and other cactii, many of which were blooming. The entire trip took 4½ hrs.

We are staying with dear friends Ray & Cathie who have an RV pad outside their home (click on the thumbnail to view a larger image). We'll be R&Ring here for a few days (don't know how long) enjoying their hospitality. A trip to Las Vegas for shopping at Fry's Electronics is in order, along with a visit to our storage shed to swap some "junque" out of the coach (and other "finds" into the coach).

Our stay with Ray & Cathie was just short of a week. Boy, did we ever eat!!! Cathie used the excuse that she "needed to clean out her freezer". Not sure about that, but the food just kept coming. Also, Ray provided us with a DirectTV satellite feed as the roof of their house blocked our KingDome. We may re-rate them to 8☆ from 7☆.
