Spent the day at Perl harbour. But first, we had to get there. Driving there was a challenge. After 1 missed turn to get onto the H1 interstate on-ramp to take us there, we found they closed 2 separate on-ramps because of road construction. Then we were faced with the GPS surprising us with a quick turn we were suppose to take that was 4 lanes over. But after 2 miles of backtracking and heading in a southerly direction, we were there.
The Navy has strict security before anyone visits the Arizona Memorial. No purses, or backpacks. You can only take what you can hold. I guess they don't want anyone to blow up the ship again. On the Arizona, there’s still oil coming out of the ship. We spent a lot of time looking at the kaleidoscope patterns the fuel oil made when it came out of the bunker tanks.
Next on the tour was a visit to the Battleship Missouri, whose smells reminded me of a old steam locomotive. Followed by the Pacific Aviation museum and the Bowfin submarine.
We had super at the International market place and got to see a Hula show; and it ended in time so I could watch an Oilers hockey game on TV
