Syracuse was awesome!

The girls and I got to hang out with our friends The Myer Family; Russ and Becky. They are fun and funny and incredible hosts. We went to their church First Unitarian Society of Syracuse on Sunday and then were treated to a terrific lunch at their house. Six years ago they hosted Debby Hedison and I when we were in Syracuse for a UU conference. Russ and Becky and their children were amazing ambassadors for the Syracuse area. We found out how much they loved where they lived and could not love it too because they were so enthusiastic. So, I was surprised to find out that they are leaving Syracuse to move to Albany for Russ' new job. Congrats Russ! They even performed a lay service at the Syracuse church this summer which shared their feelings about this new time in their lives. We wish them the best of luck and hope they are as fond of Albany as they have been of Syracuse.

After our visit with Russ and Becky, the girls and I headed out on Monday to Corning Glass Museum. The girls signed up for two different workshops. Aisha chose to create a flower from melted glass and Soleil decorated a picture frame with pieces of cut glass. We also got to spend time in the museum seeing art and learning about the properties of glass.

Unfortunately we did not get to spend time at Watkins Glen to go hiking... it's on the list of things to do on our "next trip."
