Heather and Nate's African Adventure travel blog

The ride to Lusaka was quite bumpy. We were able to see for the first time the way most Zambians lived. The majority appeared to live in mud brick huts with thatch roofs and did not appear to have either electricity or running water. On the way our bus stopped at one village and several little kids waved at us and came running to our bus. Apparently, writing pens are a favorite of little kids, so a couple of girls from the bus handed out a few pens to the littlest kids. They appeared to be grateful for such a small token.
