We departed the FAMCAMP at Davis-Monthan early knowing that the drive was going to be kinda long today. However, we always leave AFTER the working folk are off the road. This drive usually tests patience and endurance. Patience for the drive around and through Phoenix, endurance because of the length of the drive and the mountains that have to be climbed on I-17 north of the city. True to form the 228 mile trip was relatively easy.
We really like this area of Arizona, The resort is near Cottonwood, just 17 miles south of Sedona. This resort is a Thousand Trails property and we've been here at least three times before that we're aware of anyway. We even have our favorite places to eat and visit in the area. However, this time we're going to do a couple different things. Recently, Dave joined Groupon and found "deals" for really a cool Jeep ride around Sedona and a Zipline at the African Safari. Our time to stay here covers the Spring Break period, so we'll have a few crowded days at the resort as well as around town.
