WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2007. COPACABANA, BOLIVIA. It's raining today in Copacabana (This is the original Copacabana and neither literally or figuratively ¨the hottest spot north of Havana¨). Yesterday, I visited Isla del Sol, the Island of the Sun, where the Inca gods were born (photos and text to be posted shortly). Tomorrow I plan to travel northwest to Puno, Peru.

I'm firming up my itinerary for the last few months of my RTW trip here in South America. The rest of January will be spent in Peru (Puno, Arequipa, Cuzco, Machu Picchu/Inca trail, Nazca, Lima), followed by two months in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Salvador for Carneval), then Ecuador (Galapagos Islands), and finally ending in Colombia (Cartagena, Bogota) in late April.
