We lazed around the inn until noon. Tom vegged out on the chaise on the balcony listening to the birds and the church bells. Anne had set up the “Never Lost” to go in 3 distinct routes, so we would do a tour as well as get to Aix-en-Provence. The first leg was OK, bu the second was through a very twisty-turny mountain pass. We only got lost a couple of times as we missed turns in small towns. We had acquired a baguette sandwich at a patisserie and stopped along the way at one of the many picnic pull-offs. It was almost like camping. When we arrived in Aix-en-Provence, we could not find our hotel - because the official address is incorrect! But after driving around the roundabouts, suddenly there it was! We drove into the underground parking garage and ascended to the reception area and took a long, refreshing nap before dinner.
Dinner was at the hotel and was actually wonderful. Tom had salmon and Anne had chicken. The desserts were delicious and we had a good night’s sleep ready for tomorrow and our exploration of Aix-en-Provence.
