Our campsite at Pike Lake Campground, Warsaw IN

We got on the road around 10:30 this morning for the 184-mile journey to Warsaw….Indiana, that is. Instead of hitting I80/I90 today which is a toll road in Ohio, we decided to take the back roads…6 to 24 to 30….and it was a lovely trip along very nice roads. Most of the way, we were traveling at our usual 60 mph with slowing down through the small towns. I will say that Ohio has to work on their railroad crossings, though. They’re rough enough to jolt your eye-teeth out, even when you cross them as slowly as possible. Indiana’s are much better!

Pulled into the Pike County Park campground on Pike Lake (how original!) about 2 p.m. Our lot is about 50 feet from the lake. There are several campers that look like they’ve been here for the summer but everyone is friendly. This is a city-owned campground and offers a swimming beach and some fishing piers open to the public. Not a lot to say about our 5-day stay here. Nice little town, decent campground, enough geocaches to keep me busy. I can’t believe we only have one picture of the campground! Oh well.
