This morning I was up and at 'em a little earlier than usual. This is LoW campout week end at Fredericksburg, one of my favorite central Texas cities. It's only about 30 miles west of Johnson City, where I'm staying this month; so I didn't have far to drive this time. In Fredericksburg, before going to Oakwood RV Resort, I stopped at H-E-B to get some things for our potluck dinner tonight, as well as regular groceries. As usual we had a feast deluxe.
This morning I went with some of my friends to the Wildseed Farms between Fredericksburg and Stonewall. Each time I've visited there I've discovered more changes to the center. They have expanded their gift shop and have added a butterfly house. We were disappointed to learn that the butterfly house wouldn't be re-opened until later in the season. I bought a pair of lavender sunglasses and a silver and blue butterfly necklace and earring set.
On the way back, we stopped at Wal-Mart where I tried to get a new battery for my watch. I learned to my chagrin that they are not allowed to install batteries in brands of watches which Wal-Mart does not sell! That seems like such a strange policy.
Tonight we had dinner at Andy's Steak and Seafood Restaurant. It seems to be a popular place and the food was good. A man with a guitar and a dummy entertained us. The dummy's hand moves up and down as though he is playing a guitar and his head moves from side to side. Pretty cute.
Today many in the group went to Trade Days at Sunday Farms east of town, where more than 350 vendors sell their wares. I didn't go because I don't enjoy shopping and, besides, I had a "date" with cousin Maxie and her husband, Dick.
After dinner tonight several in the group drove over to Harper to a dance. The rest of us stayed in the clubroom and played table games or worked on a jigsaw puzzle.
Before leaving Oakwood RV Park, I did my laundry because there are several washers and dryers. The Roadrunner RV Park has only one of each!
