On The Road (Oakley, KS)
Jun 2, 2013
|We began our day today by sleeping in until 7:30. Then we sat with coffee talking about our travel plans for today.
We did start getting things ready, with the plan to tow the car today so that we could ride together. Alas, such was not to be because the connector came off the video cable, where it plugs in to the truck. Without the rear-view camera, I decided not to tow the car, so Marilyn drove it, following behind me as we communicated using the hand held radios.
That did make the trip seem a little longer, but it only took a bit more than 5 hours and included a fuel stop just 54 miles from our destination of Oakley, KS.
We were all set up by 2:30 and walked over to the Colonial Steakhouse, just next door to the High Plains Campground.
After a very tasty meal we returned to the RV to chill for the rest of the day.
We certainly appreciate all of the messages, emails, and phone calls today.
Now that we have begun the second half a century together, I’m kind of getting used to living with Marilyn. LOL
Tomorrow we’ll fuel the vehicles at Limon, Colorado, and then continue on to Mountaindale, hoping to arrive sometime around noon. (Mountain Time)
It will be so nice to get settled again, among the pine trees, surrounded by good friends. Looking forward to some good times for sure!
Yep, it is easy to say that Life is Good!
