THURSDAY

This morning I headed to San Marcos for the Cen-Tex LoW Christmas campout. Because of the possibility for freezing temperatures tonight, I emptied my holding tanks and filled my fresh water tank. I left the hoses hooked up, though, so I could use them if it doesn’t freeze. Gotta be prepared either way!

After a quick lunch, I tried to access the Internet so I could get caught up with my e-mails before everyone arrived. Alas! I have no signal at all even though I’m just across from the club house where the antenna is. I took my laptop over to the park office to test it. I got a strong signal there so I don’t know what the problem is. I was disappointed.

FRIDAY

By noon today everyone had arrived for the campout. We always have a good turnout in December – a total of 22 this year. We were happy to see former chapter members, Janis Shull and Jack Coker. Of course, we missed all the ones where were absent.

At our business meeting this afternoon, President Janie announced the election of Bruce Woodall as 2009 Camper of the Year. We also collected toys and cash for the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center. We have contributed to them every December for the past few years. Wagon Master Stuart announced that we will receive the same discounted camping rates next December that we’ve had for the last few years. The owners of this park are very nice and they cater to groups.

Tonight we had our special Christmas potluck dinner. Everything was lip-smackin’ good!

Because of the cold and dampness all day, I didn’t go anywhere. Several others had the same idea, so we visited and played table games. The weather didn’t deter the hard-core shoppers, though. I told them I’m going to start a counseling program for them. :>)

SATURDAY

It was still cold and damp today.
