Our trip from Auburn to Vantage, WA was 143 miles with most of it through the Cascades and on I-90. There was less construction than we had anticipated so that was nice. We also managed to give the Mothership a drink, the last one in Washington, thank goodness. Washington implemented an additional 40 cents/gallon tax just before summer and it has made it the most expensive fuel of the trip - we paid 2.799/gal today for diesel.
We are staying at the Wanapum Recreation Area
, part of the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park on the Columbia River just West of Vantage which we will go through tomorrow. We have a more or less level back-in with 50 amps and full hookups. This particular site had an easy sighting of the satellite and we have good Verizon being this close to I-90. It is a very large site with a fire pit and large picnic table and is probably the largest site we have stayed at this trip.
Tomorrow, we head for Coeur d'Alene, ID for a four night stay.
