This week end my church had a missions conference. There were people at tables in the foyer with information on how to get involved in various missions projects. Our guest speaker today was Dr. Peter Kuzmic. He is president and co-founder of the Evangelical Theological Seminary of Croatia, the first evangelical theological school in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. He also is a professor of World Missions and European studies at Gordon-Cornwell Theological Seminary.
Dr. Kuzmic told how, when he was a small boy, his father was taken from their home and tortured by the Communist soldiers for preaching. When he was sent back home, he couldn’t eat or talk because of his injuries.
By the time church was over, it had started sleeting a little but I don’t think any of it stuck to the ground because the soil is too warm. We’ve had spring-like weather most of the winter. Lately, some of the trees and plants have started turning green and are budding. This cold snap probably set them back a little.
