Up and out of Deming by 10:15 a.m. for our nice, quick 1-hour, 57-mile trip to the Hacienda RV Park in Las Cruces. What a nice park this is. After an RV leaves, a guy comes around with a lawn tractor and “rakes” the lot so there are no tell-tale tire marks or footprints then he sweeps the gutter in the front and rear of the lot so there are no stray stones in it. Most of the lots are side-by-side with a row of bushes between every 2 lots but since there was hardly anyone in the park, we got an end site with a little picnic area protected from the drive by bushes. Really rather nice. We really don’t do much on a driving day, even though we get into camp early in the fact, today we got here at 11:20 a.m….but, by the time we get set up, the heat has done us in, so to speak so the rest of the day is spent just trying to get cool again. I think it bothers me more than Bob.

Today we drove into town to check out some of the museums. Because we got sort of a late start, we got as far as the art museum (which really didn’t impress me too much) and that was it. We did hunt for one geocache on the way in but it was just too hot so gave up on that.

Home to enjoy the relative cool of the house.
